Here are some shots from this past Wednesday's riding lessons. The class ahead of Paige's was running a little late so we were hanging out watching, visiting with the other horses and I was snapping photos. Then Miss. Ginette , Lindsey and Harla rode out to the front pasture. For some reason Abu (the horse Lindsey was riding) decided to do a quick turn maybe to check if his young rider was hanging on. She hung on and he stopped then when she was catching her breath he gave her one more quick turn and she landed belly down in the grass. I was standing just outside the side barn door (the one they use to reenter the barn from the field. I yelled to Paige and Ellie to run and close the gate at the front of the barn. Abu ran towards the barn (as most horses do) and when he saw me standing with my arms out wide at the door he stopped. He was pawing and huffing and when he calmed down I grabbed his reins and walked him back out to the scene of his crime. By that time Lindsay was sitting in the saddle on C.C.'s back (the horse Miss. Ginette had been riding) and Miss. Ginette was leading them back to the barn. Lindsey is a real cowgirl x's 3 now since that was her third tumble off of a horse.
Daisey the barn beagle.
It had been cold Monday and Tuesday with snow flurries. Luckily it got up into the 50's for Wednesdays class. Paige just had a long sleeve t-shirt and a sweatshirt and gloves on. I had her bring her fleece lined rain jacket but she said she didn't need it.
