I was looking at the pictures from last year and the year before to compare Megan's bob length so I thought I would share. 2006 age 4 years 11 months
2007 age 5 years and 11 months
2008 age 6 years and 11 months.

Q) What happens two days after the "Big Show"?A)" Summer Bob" comes back!
After school yesterday Megan got her summer bob. She was so excited she said "the only one at school that knows that I am getting my haircut is my teacher". She told her friends that she will look different tomorrow, she said "you will know when you see me!". When Hannah asked if she could come play after school Megan told her "I have to go somewhere". She was proud of herself for keeping "the secret".
When we got home from the haircut Mike was calling her "Bob" she wasn't so thrilled about that. She did run over to show Linda as soon as Linda's car pulled in her driveway.

Her hair is short and sassy and ready for summer!
Here are some more pictures that we took after the "Big Show" on Sunday. We walked to the hotel next to the theatre so I could freshen Megan up. During the show when they are not on stage they get to sit up in the balcony to watch the show. Megan must have gotten tired and she rubbed her eyes. When I picked her up at the back stage door she looked like a little raccoon. So we went in and wiped the smears off and she looked much better.

It was just after 5 p.m. when we returned from dress rehearsal Saturday. Mike informed me that we were invited to our neighbors cookout. I thought it would be easier to cook out on our grill instead of dragging our food next door. So we invited Linda over and we had burgers, grilled corn on the cob, tater tots and French fries, and broccoli slaw and margaritas (the kids had milk of course).
After dinner we went next door to visit. Paige and Megan had not washed all their dance make up off yet. It is best to clean their eyes off in the tub. That is why they have "over the top" eyes!
Paige was being a good little babysitter for Jake. She was making sure that the other kids did not whack him with the plastic bats. Jake adores Paige and will follow her anywhere. There were plenty of kids running in the yards, playing in the sandbox, playing ball and also playing with our parachute.
By 9 0'clock when I took the girls home to get cleaned up they were pooped out and ready for bed.
Mike stayed over at Chris and Jamie's to play cards with the rest of the guys. It was Matt's birthday and he won the game....I guess it was his lucky night.

Paige giving Remington some affection.

Megan wearing remnants of her dinner and desert around her mouth!

See those curling iron curs were good, even after dancing, running and playing they still bounce!
Megan and Demera were hanging out together. Demera was impressed with Megan's make up.. that cracks me up!

I took these pictures of Paige on Monday (5-19) when I was out front with Megan. Paige was telling me about playing "magic monkey" a game that they play on recess. In the game the ground is lava and Paige the magic monkey helps rescue the others.
I'm glad that my girls are still kids and play kid games. The kind you make up as you go along.

Paige likes to whistle, can you tell?

Sometimes when I look at my daughters I find myself thinking "they are so pretty, so much prettier than I ever was, how did I have such pretty girls?". I am sure all parents think their kids are beautiful or at least they should, but I really feel like mine are extra special. I suppose that is normal, or maybe not and I'm just full of myself. But that is what I think...they are beautiful, smart, funny, talented, and compassionate. What more could a mom ask for?

I was out front taking pictures of flowers and plants when Megan came along and plopped down in the grass. She was playing with some tulip petals that had blown off the fading tulips.
I have found that the best way to take real, as in not posed pictures of my kids is to start asking them questions and then listen and snap away.
I asked Megan "so who did you play with on recess today?". She started telling me about swinging with Caitlyn and about playing with Sydney.

I like the way you can see her natural beauty shining through even though her hair is mussed up and she's not looking at the camera. You can see her long dark lashes against her always rosy pink cheeks (no need for Cover Girl for those cheeks or lips!). Her hair is already showing some highlights from the sun and it is only May.

Here she is attempting to show me one of those clapping rhyming songs her friends were singing. You know the kind "Miss. Mary Mack Mack Mack".

What I love best is at the age of 6 almost 7 is the honesty. You ask them what they did on recess and you get the whole story, clapping hands and all. I don't think it gets much better than that.
I am finally getting around to posting Paige's b.day cake pictures. I purchased this sweet little (yellow) cake at Anderson's on the day of Paige's birthday (May 13). I had planned to give it to her after dinner with everyone at Don Pablo's that night. But then they (Don Pablo's) gave us two huge orders of Sopapillas and after that no one had room for b.day cake. We brought it home and put it in the fridge so we could save it for the next day.
Unfortunately Mike worked late the next day...real late like after midnight late like two thirty a.m. late.
So here Paige is on Thursday-two days later making her wish and enjoying her cake. Better late than never.

Some pictures from Paige's birthday celebration at Don Pablo's last night. Here is the birthday girl smiling and laughing as the entire restaurant and wait staff sing "Happy Birthday". They also brought out two platters of warm and tasty Sopaillas so that is another reason for the big grin.

After dinner I had Paige make the rounds to get pictures with everyone. Here she is with her cousin Aaron and below with Brittney and Aunt Terry.

Aunt Deb was able to make it after an unexpected trip to get Joe Boxers stitches restitched. (Not to worry he's fine, he had some moles checked last week). Uncle Steve was able to make it too, he works just down the street from Don Pablo's.

Last but not least was Dad and Mom. Hey I made it into a picture this time! I am getting better about handing the camera to someone else so there is at least one picture of me for posterity.

The picture above is almost perfect....it's the bunny ears rule..whenever more than 2 people are all looking at the camera and smiling nicely the bunny ears pop up at the last second...never fails!
Paige and Megan were thrilled to hang out with Aunt Deb, she said "they make me feel like a movie star!". I know in their eyes she IS a star movies or not.
