Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?

Santa wraps the gifts in plain brown wrapping with BIG fancy ribbon bows and a tag that reads to: so- &-so Love Santa

Colored lights on tree/house or white?

We always let one of the kids pick the lights. For the tree this year Megan picked colored. We have clear lights on our wreath outside and on the arborvitiae trees, colored on the lamp post and wreath on the lamp post and on the globe arborvitaes, red, green and white lights on the two dwarf pines and finally red on the trunks and white on the tops of the street trees....like the rest of the neighborhood.

Do you hang mistletoe?

No tree fungus in our house just lots of hugs and kisses...Hershey's kisses are free too!

When do you put up your decorations?


This year we put our outdoor decorations up the weekend after Turkey day since it was so warm....just got the tree up this past Sunday and the rest of the decorations yesterday.

What is your favorite holiday dish?

Mrs. Turpin's Bourban Sweet potatoes.....mmmm if you put them in a pie shell it would be like sweet potatoe pie.

Favorite Holiday memory as a child?

When Santa came to Uncle Gary and Aunt Jan's house on Cork Cir. We asked if we could see the reindeer. Oh and the year we got our sock monkeys at Grandmas.

When and how did you learn that Santa isn't real?

What do you mean not real???? I still believe.....Santa is the magic of the season!

Can you ice skate?

Yes! and I even own my own skates so I can ice skate at the Columbus Zoo for free....Paige has skates too. Good way to burn off all those holiday cookies!

Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?

We let the girls open their gifts from California on Christmas Eve day so they don't get mixed in with their other gifts. Then we open gifts at Aunt Marilyn's on Christmas Eve after dinner....the gifts from the cousins and all.
Christmas morning we open our family gifts and of course the goodies from Santa!

How do you decorate your Christmas Tree?

We let the kids put their collection of ornaments on the tree and some that Mike has collected, then this year I filled in with a few of my German glass ornaments. We have a smaller tree this year and it is up on the coffee table....puppy proof. We also put some iridescent icicles on too.

Snow! Love it or Dread it?

Prefer snow instead of ice.....also if it's gonna be cold there might as well be snow on the ground...but not after March 1st!

What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you?

Sharing the magic with my kids....baking cookies, singing Christmas carols, spreading good cheer and love.

Do you remember your favorite gift?

"I have had a lot of favorites, like the year I got a ride on battery powered race car it was orange......this is way before "Power Wheels". We always had cool gifts race car sets, Legos, etc. Then when I was in 9th grade my dad got me a "Smith Corona" electric typewriter....it made me cry because I knew he picked it out himself. I still have it down in the basement.

Cream Sherry cake....it is simple to make and always taste like the holidays!

What tops your tree?

A big brass star that has cutouts of moons and stars on it....we put lights up inside of it so they shine through the cutouts.

What is your favorite holiday tradition?

Each year I get the girls a new pair of p.j.'s, a small stuffed animal and a Christmas book....you would think that they would catch on by now but they haven't. It is the last gift they open at Aunt Marilyn's. They change into their p.j.'s before we drive home. When we get home we put their stockings , milk and cookies out for Santa and the carrots for the reindeer then we go upstairs and read the new Christmas stories before bedtime.

Which do you prefer giving or Receiving gifts?

I'm all about the giving.....I try and get something that is unique or something that I know the person would enjoy.

Candy Canes on the tree?

Of course we have candy canes....it is fun to see how long they last between Megan and Mike they are candy cane crazy!

that was cool you took the time to answer these so well. I sat down to do it and everything went blank as you could probably tell from my answers. I am very proud of you being such a good mom to your girls. Any more on the way or are you done.? Love ya kid

I am done! I told Mike if we don't have anymore by the time I was 40 (which was last June) then we are done. Plus Paige was 6lbs.8oz. and Megan was 9lbs.8oz....if they keep going up 3lbs. each time they would have to shoot me! I didn't have any drugs with either of them. So yes we are done!
