Here are the rest of the pictures from last Friday (Feb. 20th) when Joe came over to spend the day with us. Paige and Megan were so thrilled to have Joe over that when their friends invited them over after school to play, they told that they were not available until after Joe went home. So I guess Joe ranks!

I had Joe and Rebel outside when the kids got off the school bus. All the neighbor kids thought we got a new dog. Paige and Megan told them that we just had Joe for the day doing some dog sitting. Lisa from down the street was so impressed with how big and beautiful Joe is. She has a white boxer and he has severe food allergies so he is on the skinny side. She was even more impressed when I told her that Joe had been diagnosed with a brain tumor and that he just finished treatments in January. He is such a good looking and sweet dog for all he has endured.

I think Joe was missing Aunt Deb a little, since she has pretty much been with him full time since Oct. when all his health problems started. He was a tiny bit whiny but nothing a head pat or back rub wouldn't cure. Then when the girls got home he was all about playing. He really liked Rowdy and Rebels bowling ball and bowling pin.

Here are the rest of the photos from our sleepover at Aunt Debs the weekend before last. After our incredible dinner we watched "Mary Poppins". Can you believe that Deb had never seen it before. I can't even count how many times I have seen it, I just love Mary she's practically perfect in every way. It was so funny when we sat down to watch the movie Joe got up and snuggled with me and Rebel made himself at home on Debs lap. By the end of the movie Rebel had snuggled up with Paige and Megan had taken Rebels spot with Deb.

In the morning Megan built a blanket fort that she shared with Paige.

Here is the wonderful breakfast that Deb made for us. An omelette with mushrooms, three cheese blend from Trader Joes, and leeks. It was yummy! She also made the potato casserole from the night before into these fantastic potato cakes.

Happy Groundhogs Day!

Here are some more shots from last week....Paige playing her clarinet on Wednesday a.k.a. snow day while Megan sits in the rocking chair chilling out after playing with her friends all afternoon.

Here are the boys, barking at each other. Rebel wanted to play and Rowdy was not having any of it!

Then Megan announced that she needed a hug so I sat in the rocker with her and hugged and we took some silly pictures. She is a pro at making silly faces...I have no idea where she gets that from?

Me and Rebel having a snuggle on Thursday night, we were watching the Wii action.

About 10 minutes before the bus pulled up on Friday morning we had some big snow flakes flying down out of the sky. By the time I headed into work (about 30 minutes later) the sun was shining.

Snow Day Pictures!

The phone call came at 6:05 a.m....the automated recording letting us know that the kids school is having a snow day. I looked out the window and saw that the street wasn't even covered in snow the plow must have gone by. But then two hours later when the neighbor called the snow was coming down like big puffs of down, it looked like feathers falling straight down from the sky. I took these pictures of Paige and Megan looking out Paige's bedroom window. Paige made the big snowflakes at school this week. They are little works of art.

It's not the blizzard of 78, but we did get a bit of snow and last night we had snow-ice-snow-ice so it was lots of fun to shovel. I had to break the ice up with the straight edge shovel and chop it up so Mike could use the snow blower. It was loads of work.

Megan and Ayva looking like cute little snow bunnies.

Megan stayed at Sam's to play with him and Ayva while Paige and I took Rebel on a hike in the snow.

Paige found some big icicles.

Rebel was thrilled to see his best buddy Jim.
I know the photo is a little blurry but they were not stopping to pose.

Megan's chunk of ice and her icicle.

Fridge Happenings......

The long shot....I guess the kids need to update their artwork. Those are drawings of Oliver and Jasper the elf...they went back to the North Pole on Christmas Eve.

The close up of our magnet collection...of all the cool/interesting/fun places we've been. I collect magnets..they are cheaper than t-shirts and they last longer.

The side that faces the counter...love the photo of Pop-pop and Rowdy..taken on the front porch of our first house, Grandma and her amaryllis makes me smile too. I used to have a lot more photos in clear frames...but Mike hates clutter on the fridge so this is our almost happy medium.

Q) When was the last time you went sledding?
We went yesterday (1/20/09)

Paige and Megan had the day off school (teacher work day) and I figured we would be able to watch the inauguration over and over again on the internet and news so we bundled up and headed for the sledding hill. At first we had the place pretty much to ourselves. There was another group of about 6 people when we showed up. Then they left after we were there for about 45 minutes. We had the place to ourselves for a while then after noon it started getting a little more crowded but not to a point where it was dangerous.
Megan above as the" fearless flier"!

Paige above getting ready for take off...note the red sled at the bottom of the hill...Megan is laying underneath it. She was fine she likes to try and crash at the end of the hill. Has a little daredevil in her. Wonder where she gets that at?

Those are my feet and I am taking the pictures as Megan and I are heading down the slope. In the next photo we are starting to turn around....

and now Megan is facing down hill and I am riding backwards. The same thing happens when we are riding on a two person tube at the water slides I always end up going down the hill backward.

After I got this cute shot of them toting their sleds up the hill I told them I didn't think it was a great idea to walk on the straw bales. They agreed that a twisted ankle would not add to their sledding fun. They are smart girls and if you point out a danger they will listen.

This little red sled could really fly and they still both fit on it.
Below is a reenactment of the landing, emphasis on "acting".

I love the shot above. You look at it as it just cries "teamwork", well about halfway up the hill Paige starts hollering at Megan to stop pushing her.
