Sunday morning (my day to sleep in past 6:30 a.m.) Paige came tip toeing into my room (she waited until 8 a.m.) and she says "Mom you said if we got up early we might have time to go to see the Big Bugs again, well I got up early". We had missed one of the bugs on our visit with Deb last Wed. because it was getting dark, we had the dogs with us etc. Well if you don't mean it with my kids then don't say it/promise it because they WILL remember (kinda like their mom in that way). Well it was a beautiful Sunday morning and the last day of the BIG BUGS so what could I do except say "Yes of course we will go". I am glad that I did because we had a fun time exploring the entire park, my camera had fresh batteries and the lighting was perfect. We had a wonderful time and I have a bunch more photos to share so come back by and I may have them posted later today or tomorrow. I have pictures of the secret garden, a cool tree house, roses, waterfalls...and lots of sweet smiles from Paige and Megan too.
The Dragon Fly, he is the one we missed on our first visit.
Below Paige and Megan are doing their impersonation of ants.

The Damsel Fly was pretty in the morning light.
The Spider is my favorite...it is so big but it has a friendly face. It reminds me of Charlotte. By the way Paige is reading "Charlotte's Web" for free reading in her SOAR class.
Do they look like they are freaking out? I told them to look scared of the spider and this is what I got. Silly little girls!

Our new bed (mattress & box springs) got here today! Here it is dressed in all it's new bedding! When we unfolded the blue quilt out tumbled two matching king pillow shams. The quilt was missing it's tag so we had no idea that it came with shams. They usually do not come as a set and they cost a lot (they know you will buy them...because they match) . So that was a pleasant surprise.
So what do you think blue shams or brown shams. Not as interesting as Ree's (Pioneer Woman) polls but it's all I have to offer.

While Megan was downstairs watching "Jimmy Nutron" Paige snuck upstairs to help paint. Here she is getting a lesson on loading the roller from her dad. Look at Rebel such a good pup, just sitting there watching. He has been real good no blue nose or paws...yet.

Mike is the pro painter. When he was attending O.S.U. he and a friend had a painting business. So he is very precise and always the pro painter....thank goodness because I am not!

Friday after school I took the girls over to the Halls to pick out pumpkins. It was 90 degrees out and did not quite feel like pumpkin weather. Grandma Hall let the girls have the mini pumpkin gourds for free since Paige and Megan go to school with her grandsons. Last year they sold out before we could get over there but they had plenty to choose from this year (they said they planted more this year too). Rebel was a good pup too. He didn't even get sick in the car, but then again it's only a few miles from our place.

Paige and her pumpkin!
Megan and her pumpkin....it's almost as big as her!

Feast One Hundred & Sixty Three

{Featured Flickr Feast by jason+amanda}

Appetizer
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how much do you look forward to your birthday?

I would say a 10....first because it's MY day (although when I was a kid I always shared it with my Uncle Gary and my Grandpa Art so there were always a list of names on the cake). We are usually on vacation on my b.day also. I have celebrated at Disney World, in Napa, CA, at the Monterey Bay Aquarium but as long as I am with family and friends it's always fun.

Soup
What is one word you don’t like the sound, spelling, or meaning of?

I hate (and I don't use the word hate lightly) the spelling of Vacuum. It makes no sense to me. It seems like it should be Vacume, ya know how that e at the end is supposed to make the vowel before it long or at least that is what they say.

Salad
Do you wear sunglasses when you’re outside? If so, what does your current pair look like?

My sunglasses look exactly like my eyeglasses because my eyeglasses came with clip ons. I love the darn things.

Main Course
If you were to write a book, to whom would you dedicate it?

First it depends on what the book was about.

But I guess I would dedicate it to my Mom and Dad for supporting my love of reading. My mom would take me to the library when I was a kid and it was a dinky little thing. My dad would let me buy all of those paperback books from the Scholastic book orders. He said if I would read them he would buy them.

Dessert
Name a beverage that you enjoy.

Chai on crushed ice, Matt at Sacred Grounds makes them perfectly.

These pictures were taken at the Wexner Center for the Arts on family day. They had all sorts of dress up items and props.

A fun day for the girls at the museum!
I took the girls to the Wexner Center For the Arts on Sunday. It was family day (free admission!) and they have the "Funny/Strange" exhibit by William Wegman he is the the guy that is famous for his Weimaraner dog photos. We all had a fun time checking out the art, eating free homemade ice cream from "Jeni's Ice Cream, making our own art and viewing a very funny short movie.

Megan and Paige my own personal masterpieces!

Megan and Paige walking down one of the mini stairways in the museum, they are like little hidden passage ways...so much fun!
Above, Paige's post card picture. William Wegman had some huge post card pictures on display. He would adhere old postcards to his canvas and then continue the picture outside of the postcard. Like imagining what might be out of view. They were really big and colorful. Megan is below showing off her masterpiece. The girls also made story books. The museum provided little scrapbooks and photos of animals that the kids could use to tell a story. Megan did hers with pictures of a Sun Bear and Paige did penguins.

Where has the time gone? I always say you don't realize how fast time goes until you have an infant in your house...same goes for a puppy.
Our little puppy boy Rebel turned 1 today. He was just 6 weeks old when we brought him home from the breeders last Oct. 29th. I posted a few pictures from his first month home then one from each month after that. It was hard to choose just one per month because we have a bazillion photos of him. Hope you enjoy Rebels year in review.

Her name is Paige Marguerite and the name suits her perfectly. Marguerite it her Great Grandma's first name and her Great Grandma is a natural gardener. When Paige came home from school on Friday she asked if she could help collect the seeds from the Lilly's out front. She had been watching for the seed pods to open up so she could collect the little black seeds so we can plant them out back when we put the flower beds around the patio. She also sat and pulled the seeds out of the dried Marigold flowers for me. I think her Great Grandma would be proud of her...I know I am.
