Here is the accordian style photo album that I made for Mike's Father's day gift. It fits nicely into the matching box. I got it as a kit at B.& B. Scrapbooks on Friday while the kids were at art camp. Then I whipped it together in about three hours or so before Mike got home from work on Friday night. I have not printed out photos for it because I need to get some good photo paper for our printer and I want the kids to pick out their favorite pictures to put in it.This is the front and back of the box. You can click on the photos to enlarge.

Around the world in 5 days! Paige and Megan are learning about the continents in art camp this week. Their first stop was South America . They made colorful bird pins out of clay, they colored sun visors with tropical frogs, and they made a tree with a tropical bird flying below, all in the span of two hours. Can you guess what continent they visited yesterday?
They made turtle prints.
Paige colored a clay giraffe and Megan colored a colorful clay elephant.Have you guessed yet?
If you did not guess Africa then I guess these cute African mask will give it away!

They are headed down under to Australia today. G'day Mates!

Come on in the water is great!Friday night after dinner we headed over to the pool. It was nice to cool off after a rather warm day in the mid ninety's . That is hot for us in early June. The girls were like fish, swimming and splashing with big grins on their faces.
Take note the one above has her mouth wide open while the one below is holding her breath prepared to go under. This pretty much sums up their personalities.

Who says kids can't fly? Not me!

And yet again her mouth is open with full grin all the way to the bottom!

Welcome to our garden, come on in and see what's blooming this week.
I have this scarlet geranium planted in a pot by the front door with some blue lobelia.
I got this cute little rain gauge at Jonne's it was all of five bucks. Megan really enjoyed the weather unit in first grade. I thought it would be a good summer project for her. She checks the rain gauge each day and records the contents on the calendar. Then at the end of the month she can add up the rain fall. So far for the month of June we have had 3 inches.
Our shrub roses are in FULL BLOOM! Nothing like a little rain and sunshine to kick them into gear.

The Canna enjoyed some rain also. Yesterday the bud looked like this.

Then this morning it was in full bloom.

The Sweet Bay Magnolia has about 20 blooms too.

Here are some more last day of school pictures.
We were all joking that this was the best breakfast that the kids had for the entire school year. There were pancakes, bacon, eggs, donuts, fresh fruit including grapes, bananas, blueberries, cantaloupe, nectarines, kiwi and watermelon, plus milk to drink. When it was lunch time they were still full.
Megan giving Mrs. Corbett one last hug!
Megan and Caitlyn clowning for the camera.
This is Josh he lives down the street and his mom says he has a crush on Megan. Maybe it's because Megan is fun and likes to play tag.
Megan got to see her B.F.F. Cameron, they always have hugs to share.
This is our neighbor boy Harry. He and Paige were in the same class this year. Harry is a real nice boy, and don't ya love his dimples?
Paige and Jordan (Cameron's big sis) share a smile.
Lauren, Paige, Sydney and Cara were buddies this year.

Hey a shot of me and Paige care of Diane (Sydney's mom).

We said good bye to an old friend this weekend.
Mike sold the Suzuki that one of his buddies gave him (for free) a few years ago. This bike was stored in a barn for 7 years and when Mike got it he had to remove a mice nest from the engine. He got it running within two days and it has been a good little bike. It's the one he rides when there's a chance of rain. One of the guys at his work wanted a bike so Mike sold it to him. I hope he takes good care of it. It's not the prettiest bike on the block but it runs well.
