This is why we had a snow day....Megan wore her pajama's inside out last night. When Paige was in 2nd grade Mrs. Black told them that if they wore their p.j.'s inside out then they would have a snow day the next day. Now this only works of course when snow is predicted, but it's fun just the same. Paige did not wear her p.j.'s inside out, she said that it's just superstition . Megan was not taking any chances and she also took ALL the credit for the snow day!
Below- Paige, Megan and Rebel enjoying the first snow day of the 2007-2008 school year. When I left for work at 9:15 Mike was out shoveling the driveway and the girls were taking the pup for a walk in the snow. Rebel does not seem to mind the cold, he likes to stick his nose in the snow and chase snowflakes, silly puppy. Rowdy on the other hand is not impressed at all with the cold white stuff. When I let him out he made it about 4 steps off the back steps and peed in the snow on the patio, no chasing snow for old dog.

Thursday morning before the girls went off to school I told them to come take care of the wish bone. I was tired of seeing it sit on the counter by the kitchen sink...going on day 5.
Megan rolled up her sleeves and Paige has a very serious strained expression and that darn wish bone won't break.
Then Rebel comes in to see what all the commotion is about. I am sure he thinking if only I was 4 inches taller I would get my wish.
And the winner is ....Megan and her wish is.....a Nintendo DS from Santa. Guess rolling up the sleeves worked for her.

Here's our turkey for Thanksgiving 2007!
We actually had Thanksgiving at Terry and Steve's house (Mike's sister and brother in law), but it's always nice to have turkey at home....so we can live off of turkey sandwiches for a few days. I ended up getting off work by noon on Saturday so I came home and worked on cooking our turkey and the fixxins . It all turned out wonderful, and it was worth all the work, cause those turkey sandwiches hit the spot.

Is it just me or does Mike look like a turkey carving a turkey?
I made P.W.'s (Pioneer Womans) mashed potatoes. They were tasty, easy and buttery and no one noticed that there was cream cheese in them (reduced fat of course).

Yesterday when the girls got home from school I was in the midst of making cookies. Paige got to put the flour in and then Megan got to dump the bag of chocolate peanut butter swirled chips in and they both helped stir. But their favorite part is cleaning the beater. Not to worry the beater gets a good washing in hot soapy water after the girls get their licks in.

Take a look at Miss. Paige's pout above when she thinks she is not going to get her turn, then her frown turns upside down as soon as she gets her hand on the spoon. I tell ya at 6 and 9 years old it is just the simple pleasures that make the world go round.

A perfect weekend to sit in front of the fire with a good book.....
We had a quiet weekend. Mike was recovering from a cold. Paige came home from school feeling tired and running a fever on Friday. We just sort of laid low. Mike and the girls hung out at home and watched t.v. I built a fire in the fireplace when I got home from work on Sat. The Buckeyes lost to Illinois so that was a bummer and then it rained almost all day Sunday. A good weekend to snuggle in. Paige was feeling better on Sunday so she went to her dance practice for the "Nutty Nutcracker". They get their costumes next week. That will be fun.
I had a nice chat with my sister on Saturday evening it was nice to hear her voice.
Well that is all from here, I need to go get some sheets in the laundry, and I promised the kids I would bake cookies today. I am also going to get my flu shot later today. I do not want to get sick this winter if I can help it.
Have a great week, love and hugs from Ohio!

Here is most of the gang or those who were still there when we decided to take a group photo.
