Happy Birthday Sis!
My sister, Shannon's birthday is May 12 and my daughter Paige's birthday is May 13th so this will be a busy weekend for us...Party..party....party! These are the most recent pictures that I have of all of us from our trip to California in June of 2005. I looked through every picture from that trip and I do not have any of me and my sister together...except our feet. That is a shame...guess that's what happens when we are the ones shooting the photos. Guess we have to learn to hand the camera over and have it pointed at us next time.
Hope you are having a lovely weekend Sis. I love you and miss you with all of my heart!

Highlights from Paige's 9th birthday party.
I think that this was one of Paige's best birthday parties yet. It was small 6 kids and that is including ours. It was just the right number of kids and it helps that her friends are so sweet. I think one of the funnest things they did was play with the glow bracelets that I gave them when we were in the car on the way to and from the bowling alley. My sister had sent us a tube of glow sticks and I passed them out and they were a huge hit. So thanks Sis. Well I need to go get Megan ready for dance recital practice. So I will post again tonight or tomorrow. We still need to call my sister and wish her a happy birthday too. Plus we are having Uncle Dave, Aunt Terry, Uncle Steve, Brittney and Aaron over for a cookout tonight. The parties never stop at our house! Wish me luck!
Paige and her butterfly cake...made by me and Mike.
Brittany, Olivia, Paige, Megan and Reilly
I actually got a picture of Paige in the air while she was jumping with excitement...she got a STRIKE!
The sisters...Megan and Paige

Paige opening her new quilt for her bed, she loves it...thank goodness!
Paige giving Brittany a super duper big hug...after Paige opened the white terrier pup Webkinz that Brittany gave to her. Paige named the puppy Jenny, because Aunt Jenny in California has a white terrier.

Here are some more pictures from the Art Show at the kids school tonight. We have a bunch of new art for the fridge...it looks great. They even made these cute little colorful magnets. Oh I just love art night...it's so much fun! ( I'm not joking....it's fun to get to go make art with your kids and have someone else clean up the mess!)
Paige's marker spin art.

Megan's colorful dragon...he is on our fridge now.
Paige's paper dragon with the 3-D head.
The top of Megan's hat is covered with bling! It sparkles just like Megan!

Paige Marguerite as Laura Ingles
Notice the bare feet in the photo above. Paige says "In the "Little House" story that we are reading now Mary and Laura go barefoot because they are saving their shoes for winter". I hope Megan doesn't get any crazy ideas from that.

Two packages in two days....someone's birthday must be coming up.
Paige's Grandma Barb made this beautiful prairie girl outfit for Paige to wear to the 3rd grade Prairie Day's at school in June. When Barb and Jim were up here in late March Paige went to the fabric store with her and picked out the fabric for the dress and bonnet. Megan picked out fabric for her bonnet too, when Megan gets to third grade she will get a turn with the dress. Grandma is so sweet she made Megan her own apron too. As our neighbor Linda said when she saw the girls "Your Grandma must be talented to sew such pretty things". The outdoor pictures were taken in Linda's yard, I thought the rockers and little wheel barrow added a nice touch to the photos.

"Let's go fly a kite, up to the highest height. Let's go fly a kite and send it sailing. Up where the air is clear up through the atmosphere . Oh let's go fly a kite!" from my favorite movie "Mary Poppins"

This is the kite that got away! Megan was flying it when she accidentally let go I chased after it but it went over our garage. So I ran through the house dropping the camera off on the way. Paige ran after it with her kite still in her hand....she even looked both ways before dashing across the street. When I got across the street the kite string was going over Linda's garage and the kite string unraveled from the little plastic handle and fell to the ground. I ran around to the backyard (good thing we don't have fences here) and found the kite. It was still in one piece it had hit the side of the house behind Linda's and was in a bush. I pulled the string over the peak of the roof and tied it to the handle and wound it up. So that was our excitement...we didn't fly kites to Stockton but we had some laughs and made some memories.

The results of your analysis say:
You tend to pursue many different activities simultaneously. When misfortune does happen, it doesn't actually dishearten you all that much. You have a peaceful mind, viewing the world with calm and serenity. To you, life is not about struggle and strife but about existence and co-existence.
You like following the rules and being objective. You are precise and meticulous, and like to evaluate decisions before making them.
You have a sunny, cheerful disposition.
What does your drawing say about YOU?

Rebel was a good little pup today. This morning after the kids got off to school I was up in the bonus room making a b.day card for my Sis and Rebel came up and found himself a cozy spot in Megan's bean bag. The reason I am so proud of him is that the floor was littered with "Polly Pockets" these tiny little dolls that have rubbery clothes and shoes....exactly what a little pup would like to chew up. I guess Rebel had his halo on today.

Hey get that darn camera out of my face and let me get my doggy rest.

MID WEEK UPDATE FROM THE IZZIE'SHappy May to all! I swiped this picture from my cousin Callie's blog...I love it! Go to my picture of the day blog for photos of Paige in her Sugar Plum ballet costume...it's good for a smile.
We barely had a thunderstorm last night...not enough rain to leave puddles...but some cool lightning in the distance. Yesterday we had a high of 90, yes I said NINETY degrees...very warm for the first day of May. If those thunderstorms would have come around 4 p.m. like they predicted we might have had some severe weather, luckily it held off until after 10 and then it was far to the North of us. This a.m. it is cool (60 degrees at 9 a.m.) and overcast with the sun trying to peak out of the clouds.
Megan has a field trip to Stratford Farm and Ecological Center today. They are gonna learn about the 3 R's.....reduce, reuse and recycle. I packed her sandwich and cookies in non bleached wax paper that I just happened to have from Whole foods. I couldn't get the darn wax paper to stay shut around the sandwich so I rubber banded it closed...yes I recycled the rubber band from the newspaper. I gave her an old washcloth instead of a paper napkin and packed it all in a insulated lunch sack that the kids got from the Library Summer Reading Program. She is even wearing hand me down boots so she's setting a good example.
Paige has her state reading test today. I filled her up with homemade waffles and bananas and milk for breakfast. They are having their lunch an hour and a half later than normal. She will do fine on her test she already aced it last fall.
I need to go run some errands...I get to pick up my ring today. A few weeks ago the main diamond fell out of my engagement ring. I was at the kids school doing some volunteer work for kindergarten registration. I was talking to some other moms and some teachers and all of a sudden a lady says "is this yours?" and she has this little sparkle in her hand. At first I felt my ears for my earrings but no then I looked at my ring and sure enough my diamond was out. I said "I don't know your name but I love you". I am so darn lucky....before coming to the school I had gone grocery shopping ...if my diamond would have come out there it would be gone forever. So I am excited to go get my ring back...my hand feels naked without it.
HAVE A GREAT HUMP DAY...WE ARE 1/2 WAY TO THE WEEKEND!
