Paige and Megan checking out the blog. This is after they played in the snow and came in for nice warm showers. Look how much auburn is in Paige's hair, I have never noticed that before and I comb her hair everyday. It is so thick it takes forever to dry. I had it up in a bun for dance class but then dance class was canceled. This a.m. we took it out of the bun and her hair looked so pretty, it had all this body and wave. Today the girls stayed inside, it was way too cold to go play in the snow. The sun was out but it was windy and very very cold. The girls had fun inside...they went on a scavenger hunt to find their valentine's. I put the first clue on the chalkboard in the basement then I hid clues on hearts around the house. They had a fun time and ended up finding their valentines in the oven....the clue was go to the place we put the cupcakes in to bake. They thought it was very clever.

By the way the kids are off school again tomorrow....and they are already off next Monday and Tuesday...Presidents day and a teacher's work day. Will they ever go to school????

SNOW DAY REPORT! All bundled up and ready to go play in the snow...hurry up mom take the picture we want to go!
Silly girls! Paige and Megan posing in the snow. They had so much fun, played outside for two hours. They played with Harry from across the street (he is Paige's age). They played with Rebel for a while, chasing and rolling in the snow. Then they played pirates on our patio. Harry was Captain Jack Sparrow of course. They were using Rebel's ball as treasure until it got lost in the snow. I told them not to worry...now we will have a real treasure to find when the snow melts. When they came in they went and took hot showers to warm up. Paige's ballet class is canceled so they are just hanging out playing upstairs. They did some school work today too, don't want their brains to turn to mush.
The girls would throw Rebel's ball and he would chase it and then dig it out of the snow...he is our little snow dog. Paige and Megan look like groundhogs peaking over the wall of the patio.
Rebel in from the cold...he would go out and play then after about 15 minutes he would come in and get warmed up then out again...he will sleep good tonight.
Rebel's snowball....when I took his sweater and vest off of him this snowball came rolling out, he promptly ate it!

It used to be whenever I took a pictue the kids would say "can I see it?", they are so used to having the instant gratification of digital photography. Now when I take pictures they say "are you gonna put it on the Blog?" Well of course!

Does the tooth fairy come for puppies? Rebel is loosing teeth like crazy...now we know why he has been obsessed with eating snow and ice when it is below 20 degrees out. He is probably just trying to numb his gums. I will be glad when all his little needle sharp puppy teeth are gone, those suckers are pointy.

Bouncy Ball

This is Rebel's favorite toy...we refer to it as "Bouncy Ball". We have had this toy for quite a while I think Paige picked it out for R0wdy at least 3 years ago. Rowdy liked it when it was brand new but he has not played with it for a long time. Rebel loves this silly toy, he has played with it since he was about 8 weeks old...he could barely pick it up but he would drag it around. He chases it and growls at it and jumps on it...he acts like he is attacking it. These pictures are not the best but they are best I can do with such a crazy moving target of a puppy.

Welcome to Paige's Valentine Store!


Last night the school's web site said that school was on for today...then at 6:30 a.m. when I checked again it said 2 hour delay...went back to bed got up at 8 a.m. and checked again and it said no school today. I am lucky that my kids are old enough entertain themselves. While I was upstairs changing sheets and cleaning they set to work making valentines. As you can see Paige has her own Valentine store set up on the kitchen table. Don't forget that Valentines day is just one week away....get your orders in quick!

I am very proud of this girl!


Paige tried out for a solo ballet part for the Spring recital. Miss. Tricia her teacher wanted all the girls to give it a try . The part of Princess Splenda was for girls in 1st grade through 4 th grade , so there was a lot of competition, almost 50 kids. The auditions were from 5:15 to 6:30 this past Sunday night. They divided the kids into smaller groups and taught them a little dance routine...Paige said it was about 2 minutes long. Then they practiced and tried out in groups of 3. Paige 's group had Marissa and Grace so that was nice because she has danced with them before in dance class .
Paige did not get the part but she had a positive experience and we are so proud of her. Oh and she will still have two dances in the May recital, she will be a Sugarplum for ballet and in tap they are dancing to "Jailhouse Rock". They get their costumes in April and we will post pictures for you.

So I am being good and trying to (create) finish Joe Boxer's cookbook up for Deb on Saturday. Well the phone rings and it is Deb. She say's "what are you doing home? I wasn't expecting you to answer". I tell her I have the day off and she ask if I would like to go to Target and do a little retail therapy. I ask the girls if they want to join us and they agree it sounds like fun. So Deb swings by and we all go to Target. The girls spent some of their Target gift cards from Christmas and got themselves some mini Disney Fairies. Then we went to Panerra and Deb treated us to lunch and then off to Barnes & Noble...Paige had a gift card from Deb and Bud to use. She did very well...she got a Disney Fairy book and then 4 new chapter books about these little flower fairies. It was a fun afternoon and something that we have not done in such a long time.

Below Deb protested to having her picture taken....but we did it anyways...bad hair day and all! I love that Paige and Megan are peeking over her shoulders...like a cute little 3 headed monster!

This is what happens when you ask the eight year old to put the puppy's sweater on him...she crawls into his cage...corners him and puts the sweater on! I have some shots of her between ages 1 and 2 in this same dog cage when it was Rowdy's. She used to go in there and just hang out like it was her own little retreat. Silly girl, she has been a dog lover from the start, which is not a bad thing at all!

Friday night was the annual "Pizza dinner/singing show and book fair" at the kids school. Each grade does a little singing performance of about 5 songs. It is fun to see all the kids having fun, visit with the other parents and see the artwork displayed in the halls.

Paige and Megan were feeling artistic last Sunday evening so they started their dog paintings. I got the painting kits from "World Market" for them for Christmas. They are canvas's with 3 dogs printed on them and they came with acrylic paints, brushes and a little tray to mix the paints. Hopefully they will get them done this weekend. It is going to be very cold with highs around 18 to 20 degrees. Think we will be staying in, keeping warm and painting, scrapbooking and baking! Wish my sister were here to join the fun.

Deb and Bud gave Mike a real nice case of clay poker chips....so we had to try them out. He taught us how to play Texas Hold'm this past Sunday. Paige really got into it and was doing pretty well. I was playing on Megan's team....but then after an hour or so she was bored so I took her place. I ended up winning all the chips.....the last hand we put everything in the middle and I won with the last card...got a pair of ACES to take it all. Paige was not happy about that...then I reminded her it was just for fun not real $.


P.S. This sweater I am wearing reminds me of my Grandma....has her favorite colors in it....and it makes me smile:)
